Kelly Plitz

Kelly Plitz is an accomplished equestrian in eventing who has represented Canada at the Olympic level.

Kelly began her riding career showing hunters and on the quarter horse circuit. Once she and her mare Dialadream, a quarter horse that had raced on the track, tried the discipline of eventing, a mutual passion was discovered. By 1981, Kelly and ‘Dreamy’ had been named to the Canadian Equestrian Team long list. In 1982, they were selected to represent Canada at the World Event Championships, where they finished 35th, as top Canadian horse and rider, and in 1984 were chosen to compete for Canada at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, where they finished 25th and were again the top Canadian pair.

Since then, Kelly has developed numerous mounts that have gone on to successful eventing careers and she has a keen eye for choosing horses. She is a Level 3 Equine Canada coach who excels at developing young riders’ skills.
